Build a Simple WiFi Detector

Lazlo shared this great little circuit. It is a WiFi sniffer that uses two transistors and few other easy to find parts. It is not tuned so will pickup stray RF signals from microwaves, phones, etc but that is the trade off of such a simple circuit.

When are people going to learn that simple line drawings like schematics DO NOT BELONG IN JPEGS!? There is a reason we have PNGs and (to a lesser extent) GIFs, people!

    Sorry, rant over… ;)

That aside, this is a great circuit! Many thanks to both Lazlo and HacksOnly!

Oops, sorry… I’ve only been reading this site for a while. I of course meant “OnlyHacks”. :P

i am currently working on a WiFi detector project.Just wondering is this circuit suitable to use?

Hi, I am trying to built the circuit. However, I couldn’t find L1 : 1nH, L2 : 2.2nH.The smallest value of inductor that I can find is in Mili unit. Can you suggest any other component to replace them?

What about Digi-Key Part Number 712-1424-1-ND? That one is SMD but appears to have a few styles.
