onlyhacks is going to feature one thing, hacks. But what is a hack? According to the Jargon File,  a few of the defintions are “.. a quick job that produces what is needed, but not well” and “an incredibly good, and perhaps very time-consuming, piece of work that produces exactly what is needed.”

If you want to go a little deeper, the Jargon File also dives into the The Meaning of ‘Hack’.  One of the nuggets of wisdon in that page is that “Hacking might be characterized as ‘an appropriate application of ingenuity’”. I like this one because it does not make reference of a “need” but recognizes the inginuity involved. Because seriously, who “needs” an AVR based web server?
