The forums over at Ben Heck’s site are chuck full of great hacks. vomitsaw made a NES controller out of red acrylic. Even the buttons. He calls it “CANCER” as in Custom Acrylic Nintedo Control… ER. He replaced the d-pad with a knob and rearranged the A/B button layout slightly. Not much else to say. Enjoy!

I don’t know much about Uze except that he likes Gameboy Advance audio. He also made an open-source game console, so he’s got that going for him. The Uzebox is based on an overclocked ATmega644 and uses an AD725 for RGB-to-NTSC conversion. That is it for the chip count!! Two. Since this is an 8-bit design, the NES compatible joypad inputs just seem perfect. All it needs to finish it off is one of these Nintendo switch assemblies. <via Hack a Day post comments>

Since it is Sunday, here is lighter post. There was a post recently over at deputydog about stained glass with a geek/nerd theme (site is dead now). There are some nice ones shown. It turns out making your own stained glass is not all that difficult. The two tools needed are a soldering iron and a glass scorer. A few basic supplies from the hobby shop and you too can make your own Optimus Prime. <via random-good-stuff>

What happens when graft an old Powerbook with an Ikea table? You get the Mamebook Cocktail. Fredrick was detailing this on his own blog and then decided the project deserved it’s own blog. <via ikea hacker>

Grand Theft Auto IV special edition came in a safety deposit type box. Mark Harris decided to stick a computer in that box. Check it out over at mini-itx.com.
