A DIY Slide Scanner Project With an AVR Brain

DIY AVR Slide Scanner

Thomas had about 4000 slides that he wanted to scan into his computer. He first tried an auto-feed flatbed but founf the results less than satisfactory. Next he set up a jig to hold the slide up and illuminate it from behind. Then he could take a picture with his digital camera. The results were better, but after 500 slides it was very tiring. He thought about it then adapted an automatic slide projector. He programmed an ATMega8 controller to automate the process.
