Since it is Sunday, here is lighter post. There was a post recently over at deputydog about stained glass with a geek/nerd theme (site is dead now). There are some nice ones shown. It turns out making your own stained glass is not all that difficult. The two tools needed are a soldering iron and a glass scorer. A few basic supplies from the hobby shop and you too can make your own Optimus Prime. <via random-good-stuff>

Every one likes Bender, right? What about a Bender that brews beer? This was done on Futurama in the episode “The Route of All Evil”. Simon built his own Brewing Bender and stuck a homebrew kit inside. He did his research by checking several episodes to get the physical dimensions correct.
Benders brain is referenced in one episode as an MOS Technology 6502. This chip was actually first designed in 1975 and was used in the Apple I and II as well as the Commodore VIC-20. Simon used this chip to to play samples of Bander’s voice.

I have seen many coil gun build ups. The nice thing about this one is that you can build it pretty quickly with almost no money. All that you need is used disposable camera with flash. Add a few parts and there you go! Want a magazine and laser site? Jeff did that. Here is another one that is more serious.

Chris Savage likes the Parallax Basic Stamp. So when his wife needed to start parking her car in a garage, he decided to go hi-tech on the old tennis ball trick. He built a sonar based sensor which has four zones so that the car can be put in “sweet” spot. <via hacked gadgets>

Several people have modded their Leatherman/Swiss Army Knife/Gerber Tool to accept a key instead of an unused tool. The original Leatherman KEYman is supposed to be by shadeone on edcforums.com. The picture above is a modifiied Leatherman Micra made by pyro222. And lastly if you are a minamalist, there is Carlos’ Compact Keychain. <via make and instructables>
